Watch New Clips From 'Half Of A Yellow Sun' Within New Soundtrack Music Video By D'banj

Biyi Bandele’s Half Of A Yellow Sun – a film adaptation of celebrated author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Orange Prize-winning novel of the same name – will be released in the USA this summer, by Monterey Media

No exact release date has been announced yet (just that it will be out in the summer); but ahead of the film’s opening, the first track from the film’s soundtrack is out, along with its music video.
Nigerian artist D’banj sings the song, which is titled Bother You – an artist and track that have been criticized by some (like here, for example), who don’t feel that either is suitable for the heavy, historical content within film.
The music video, embedded below, contains lots of new footage from the film not seen in the existing trailer.
Biyi Bandele’s feature film directorial debut, stars Chiwetel EjioforThandie Newton, John BoyegaAnika Noni RoseJoseph Mawle and Genevieve Nnaji, in a drama that weaves together the lives of four people swept up in the turbulence of civil war, with a newly independent 1960s Nigeria as the backdrop.

Produced by Bafta award-winner Andrea Calderwood (The Last King of Scotland) and Gail Ega (The Constant Gardner), the film is a British/Nigerian co-production and was shot at Tinapa Film Studio in Nigeria and in the UK.

I’d expect Monterey Media to cut and release a new trailer for the film eventually. In the meantime, here’s D’banj’s music video for Bother You, featuring clips from the upcoming movie. And underneath, you’ll find a first release poster:
