It’s hard to believe, but prior to getting the role of Patsey in Steve McQueen’s “12 Years A Slave,” Academy Award nominee Lupita Nyong’o had only one film credit to her name, and you can watch it below.
“East River,” a 2008 short film directed by Marc Grey (“Night Before the Morning Sun”), and produced by Kozak Films, tells the story of a lone traveler (Tommaso Spinelli) who meets a girl, played by Nyong’o, and fashions a relationship with her, only to be let down in the end.
Shot without dialogue by cinematographer Kamil Plocki and edited by Thomas Lindsay, “East River,” per Grey’s description, is “about the relationship between physical and emotional space.” Check it out:
