We didn’t realize there was such a thing as the “Gaybie Awards,” the nominations for which LGBT distributor TLA announced on their website today.
It seems like they basically nominated every single gay film that came out in 2013, and by gay we do mean exclusively gay male (save the strange inclusion of “Dallas Buyers Club,” given its about a straight man and a trans-woman). Either way, and for what it’s worth, a lot of great films are included on the list (“In The Family,” “C.O.G.,” “Kill Your Darlings,” “Stranger By The Lake,” “Interior. Leather Bar”), and the public votes on the winner (which you can do here). So… yeah? Congratulations to the nominees:
