As if Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming feature film “Noah” starring Russell Crowe didn’t have enough lavish imagery to wow his audiences, the Oscar-nominated director now brings people a new interpretation of the biblical epic. Wanting to take the story of Noah and his ark to ambitious new lengths, Aronofsky has now curated an art show that can be viewed online here.
The director has already succumbed to much controversy regarding his artistic depiction of a deeply religious tale (“Noah” has already been banned in certain Middle-Eastern countries), but that clearly isn’t stopping him from expressing his vision. In fact, Aronofsky seems determined to break past the cliched notions that have been preconceived throughout history by offering a new perspective on the biblical tale.

Curious about the many questions that arise from the ambiguous descriptions in the timeless story, Aronofsky has brought together a number of artists to create a series of works in which various interpretations of Noah’s story are depicted both with startling beauty and harrowing darkness.
