Director William Friedkin to Receive Honorary Award at CPH PIX

At this year’s CPH PIX, Denmark’s biggest annual feature film festival, the Danish Film Academy will present Oscar-winning director William Friedkin (“The Exorcist,” “Killer Joe”) with a Lifetime Achievement Award, the Honorary ROBERT. The director himself will attend the festival from April 2nd-6th, presenting his landmark films that have been chosen for the Festival’s retrospective commemorating the director’s talents. When Friedkin receives his Honorary ROBERT, it will mark the first time the festival has bestowed the award on an international filmmaker.

The Danish Film Academy is excited to enshrine and commemorate Friedkin’s global filmmaking influence. As Kim Magnusson, Chairman of the Danish Film Academy, said, “William Friedkin’s films are milestones in film history, and it is hard to overestimate the influence he has had and still has on filmmakers all over the world. We are proud Friedkin is coming to the festival to receive his Honorary Robert.”
