Magnolia Pictures has dropped a 30-second spot for the first installment of Lars Von Trier’s epic sexual drama, “Nymphomaniac,” and Indiewire has the exclusive premiere. The spot strings together a series of scenes that reveal the film’s premise without too many spoilers, while a ruthless heavy metal track provides for an unsettling accompaniment, especially when set against clips featuring a battered Charlotte Gainsbourg. Discomfort reaches its climax at the 15-second mark, during the scene where Uma Thurman turns to Gainsbourg and asks the already infamous line, “Would it be all right if I showed the children the whoring bed?”
“Nymphomaniac: Volume 1” will be released in theaters on March 21, but will be available OnDemand beginning March 6. Check out the spot below:
