Admittedly there is an aggravating factor here in the shape of my Long Island sized crush on Kate McKinnon. Happily for both of us that’s also the place of her birth. Thus destiny spake and ordained our entwined fates.
Also, Louis CK is very funny so props to him for whatever he did to get this on our screens. Did I mention Kate McKinnon? She’s funny too. The whole thing is funny! It also reminds me just how fabulously queer Cagney and Lacey was in the first place. Frankly, a little more sensitivity to my physiological responses to the daily reruns of their badass NYC marauding during my early teenage years could have saved a *lot* of later angst. Yes, I am saying it’s gay to love Lacey like I did.
