With a new set of twists and dangers, season three of “Homeland” took a different course than many expected, with a major development involving Damian Lewis’s character Nicholas Brody. Nevertheless, one of the highlights of the season was the introduction of Fara Sherazi, a young, competent and conflicted Iranian woman who joined the CIA as an analyst.
Earlier today, Showtime announced that Nazanin Boniadi, who plays Fara, has been elevated as a series regular for the show’s fourth season. Showtime also described her expanded part as a “key role,” where she’ll be working with Carrie (Claire Danes).
Boniadi is currently starring in an eight-episode arc on the ABC drama “Scandal.” She previously appeared as a guest on “How I Met Your Mother,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “24.”
The fourth season of “Homeland” is expected to return in the fall.
