The twisted dark comedy “Cheap Thrills” hits theaters and VOD platforms today and now, in partnership with the film’s distributor Drafthouse Films, BitTorrent has unveiled “The Cheap Thrills” Bundle.
“Unlock the social experiment. Read about it firsthand, from director
E.L. Katz. Listen to three songs from the soundtrack. Watch the trailer.
Check out stills from the set. Then, see what viewers dared to do. If
you’re game, you can help unlock challenges for the cast and crew,” writes BitTorrent on its blog announcing the new Bundle.
By sharing the website on Twitter, stars Pat Healy,
Ethan Embry, producer Travis Stevens and Drafthouse Films CEO Tim League
will be one step closer to having to execute one of the many
electrifying acts as part of a “Share to Dare” campaign. Once they are “unlocked” by a set number of social media
shares, video and photographic evidence will be released.
BitTorrent previously partnered with Drafthouse Films on The Act of Killing Bundle,
which was downloaded by more than 3.5 million people.

Directed by E.L. Katz, “Cheap Thrills” follows family man Craig (Pat Healy) down on his luck and about to lose everything. After he runs into his old high school friend Vince (Ethan Embry), the two get roped into a series of escalating dares by a mysterious, rich couple (David Koechner, Sara Paxton).
“Cheap
Thrills is a dark thriller. And it’s more: a genre film that doesn’t
fit neatly into set conventions; one that taps into the broader, scarier
issues of class and morality that define this period in American
history. As the stakes in the film are raised, so are questions. Our
goal is to use BitTorrent Bundle as a way to
invite millions fans across the Internet to participate in the film. To
go behind the scenes with us; to ask, and to dare,” said Evan Husney, Creative Director, Drafthouse Films.
