After a reported 15 year development phase, the film adaptation of Lois Lowry’s popular 1993 children’s novel “The Giver” is finally nearing its theatrical release, and we have the trailer to prove it.

The sci-fi film centers on Jonah (Brenton Thwaites), a young man who’s chosen to receive the memories of The Giver (Jeff Bridges), the only citizen who knows what life was like before society elected to have all messy aspects of life wiped out in favor of a cleansed utopia.
