Juliette Binoche last appeared on screen in what was arguably her most challenging role to date as the titular depressed artist in “Camille Claudel 1915,” so you can’t blame her for following that up with “Words and Pictures,” a lighthearted romantic comedy that looks amiable if a tad bland, judging by the just-released trailer.
In the film, the Oscar-winner plays an high school art teacher battling with rheumatoid arthritis who develops a close but tenuous bond with an English teacher (Clive Owen), who suffers from a drinking problem.
Roadside Attractions opens the comedy May 23rd.
