Those in the LA area had a rather rude awakening around 6:30am this morning, when a robust-seeming earthquake jostled us around for a few seconds. Apparently it was only 4.4 on the Richter scale (here’s the seismograph), though it felt bigger than that. At any rate, MuckRack made a funny gif of the KTLA anchors reacting on air when the earthquake strikes (watch the minute-long video from YouTube below; the anchors compose themselves very soon after ducking under their desks).
It seems the LAPD were none too thrilled by all the 911 calls. They sent out this amusing tweet:
“Please do not call 911 to report the #earthquake. We are well aware of it.”
