World Animation Master Classes

Lee Murray Animation has announced the debut of a 3-Day event, World Animation Master Classes – to take place at the ICC in Birmingham, UK between the 23rd and 25th of May.

This is a 3 day international event where six master teachers join forces to deliver a unique series of masterclasses containing information that is just not available in books, video or the internet.

Jason Ryan, Ken Fountain, Ed Hooks, Eamonn Butler, Keith Lango and Chris Derochie will share their animating methods and techniques for producing world class character animation for, creature, VFX, feature film, cartoon animation, TV and games.

Here’s a quick breakdown of masterclasses for weekend:

Friday, May 23rd

The event starts with Jason Ryan  (Supervising Animator at Dreamworks) & Ken Fountain (Director Splatfrog.com) sharing the stage and talking about . “How To ‘Solve’ your Animated Acting Performance

Saturday, May 24th

On day two, Keith Lango  (Animator Valve Games studios) will be taking the stage to discuss. “How To Contextualize Your Workflow

In the afternoon,  Eamonn Butler (Head of Animation at Cinesite) will be demystifying the world of VFX Animation by asking what it’s like to work as an animator in VFX compared to Feature animation? The Animation and VFX Industry

Sunday, May 25th

On day three Ed Hooks will be teaching his famous Acting For Animators

In the afternoon,  Chris Derochie (Head of Animation Zoic Studio, Vancouver) will be discussing –  “understanding of basic physics as it applies to animation of all styles and will teach you how to internalize physics to take the guesswork out of your animation.” Let’s Get Physical

9:00am – 7:00 pm
