BFI Responds to Cannes Film Festival Announcement

After this week’s announcement of the Cannes Film Festival Competition and Un Certain Regard Lineups, Ben Roberts, Director of the BFI Film Fund made a statement about the British filmmakers included in the exclusive list:

“Congratulations to Mike and Ken whose wonderful films will light up the Croisette with their colorful, transcendent reflections on life and love,
politics and change, art and music. It’s been a privilege to work with two true masters of British cinema at their finest. Congratulations also to new
British talent Andrew Hulme whose directorial debut, Snow in Paradise is premiering in Un Certain Regard. We have our fingers crossed for more good news
next week!”
said Roberts.

The BFI is the lead organization for film in the UK and since 2011 has combined a creative, cultural and industrial role as a Government arm’s length body
and distributor of National Lottery funds. Its key priorities are to support a vibrant UK film culture by investing in film education, audience access,
