‘Captain America 3’ Gets US Release Date

'Captain America 3' Gets US Release Date

Disney and Marvel have dated “Captain America 3” for May 6, 2016. That’s neck-and-neck with Warner Bros.’ untitled “Superman-Batman” movie, slated for release the same day.

The news comes on the heels of a record-setting opening weekend for “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” the sequel starring Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson, and directed by the Russo Brothers. Johansson’s on a high this weekend with two hits — a tentpole, and an esoteric arthouse chiller.

While we weren’t, at first, in love with the idea of a Batman/Superman mash-up, an intriguing new cast — including Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Holly Hunter, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor — has hopes high.
