'Cosmos' Writer-Director Ann Druyan Is Coming to AFI's 2014 Sloan Seminar

The AFI Conservatory’s 2014 Sloan Seminar guest will be Ann
Druyan, who writes, executive producers and directs the buzzy science documentary series “Cosmos:
A Space-Time Odyssey,” which follows up on the original Carl Sagan PBS series
from 1980.

Druyan, who previously served as Creative Director on NASA’s Voyager Interstellar Message Project, will speak to AFI Conservatory Fellows on
campus May 2. The Sloan Seminar is held only once a year and features a select filmmaker
whose work in science and technology has greatly impacted the art form.

Past participants include performance-capture guru Andy Serkis and “Breaking Bad” showrunner Vince Gilligan.
