Fans Rejoice! Seth Meyers to Host 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards

Seth Meyers’ street cred just keeps rising. The newly-appointed host of “Late Night” is now set to take on another, even more high profile gig: the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards on August 25th.

Meyers’ previously hosted the 2010 and 2011 ESPY Awards on ESPN, but this this will mark his first time hosting the Emmys. He is joined by legendary television producer Don Mischer, who served as producer for past Oscar ceremonies and Super Bowl half-time shows. The Emmys will air on NBC this year, making the appointment of one of their own as host no surprise.

“Seth’s expertise and ease in front of a live audience during his time at ‘SNL,’ as well as his comedic brilliance both as a writer and in front of the camera, makes him the perfect choice to host the Emmys,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Late Night and Alternative Programming, NBC Entertainment.

Meyers currently serves as host of “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” taking over Jimmy Fallon’s spot earlier this year. Before taking Fallon’s place on NBC, Meyers was head-writer and a cast member for “Saturday Night Live.”
