2014 Emmy Predictions: Best TV Movie

Indiewire will provide regular updates of our predictions through August 25th, when the winners will be announced.

Unlike its subject, no one had given much press to “Muhammed Ali’s Greatest Fight” before it snagged an unexpected nod for Outstanding TV Movie at the 66th Annual Emmys. It will try to knock out the top two contenders: “The Normal Heart” and “Sherlock: His Last Vow,” both of which are strong players for the categories’ top prizes. “Killing Kennedy” lost steam when Rob Lowe failed to snag a nod, and “The Trip to Bountiful” hasn’t shown a strong sway with voters, at least in its total noms (though Cicely Tyson may win on her own). No, it looks like “The Normal Heart” and “Sherlock” are your best bets.

Below are predictions for Outstanding Television Movie from Indiewire Awards Editor Peter Knegt and Assistant TV Editor Ben Travers. Check out predictions in all the categories here.
