Cannes: Kino Lorber Acquires All U.S. Rights to Alain Resnais' 'The Life of Riley'

Kino Lorber and French sales agency Le Pacte announced today in Cannes they have finalized a deal for Kino Lorber to acquire all U.S. rights to “The Life of Riley,” the final film of legendary director Alain Resnais, who died earlier this year shortly after completing the film.

“Though we were deeply saddened by the sudden death of the great Alain Resnais, Kino Lorber is greatly honored to be able to bring to U.S. audiences his delightful and ebullient final work…as fresh in vision and ideas as the best work of his youth…[‘Life of Riley’] truly leaves us with deep affection, a glass raised and a cherished melody…we will love, drink and sing to his memory,” said Richard Lorber, CEO of Kino Lorber.

Kino Lorber expects to premiere the film late summer or early fall at a U.S. festival followed by a theatrical run shortly after in New York City and expanding to major American cities. In winter of 2015, the film will also be released on all digital platforms, including a special Blu-ray Collectors Edition.
