LeBron James & Method Man Join Cast Of Judd Apatow's 'Trainwreck'

LeBron James continues to shape his post-NBA career, which will be heavily media-focused (specifically acting and producing for film and TV).

The NBA star and rapper/actor Method Man have joined the cast of Judd Apatow‘s upcoming comedy, Trainwreck.

The pair will star alongside Amy Schumer (wrote also the screenplay), Bill Hader, Brie Larson, Colin Quinn, Vanessa Bayer, Tilda SwintonJohn Cena and Mike Birbiglia, in a project, set up at Universal, whose plot is currently being kept under wraps.

It’s set for a July 242015 release, right in the middle of summer.

LeBron James projects previously-announced include STARZ’s half-hour scripted comedy series titled Survivor’s Remorse, which is set in the world of professional basketball and follows a basketball phenom in his early 20’s who is suddenly thrust into the limelight after signing a multi-million dollar contract with a professional basketball team, and is forced to confront the challenges of carrying opportunistic family members and their strong ties to the impoverished community that they come from.

There’s also a feature film which will be based on James’ high school years, and hails from Frank E. Flowers (HavenMetro Manila), Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire, The Wolf Of Wall Streetand Rachel Winter (Dallas Buyers Club), with James and his manager Maverick Carter co-producing.

And there’s a comedy feature titled Ballers, in which he’ll star alongside Kevin Hart, which is also set up at Universal Pictures, with Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer and Michael Rosenberg producing.

James will star in the film with Hart, who will play a man who really wants to be known as something other than the brother of an NBA superstar, played by LeBron James, and gets his chance to prove himself when he and some friends attend a fantasy basketball camp in Miami. Naturally, hijinx and hilarity ensue.

As for Method Man, he just wrapped filming the indie dramedy, The Cobbler, which stars Adam Sandler.
