Project of the Day: ‘Luftmenschen, The Ones Who Walk On Air’

Project of the Day: 'Luftmenschen, The Ones Who Walk On Air'

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Tweetable Logline: In a world where people float when they fall in love, we meet Elizabeth who seems to be perpetually floating alone.

Elevator Pitch: In a world where people float, hovering above the ground when they fall
in love, we meet Elizabeth. She is a girl who seems to be perpetually
floating alone. After one too many heart breaks she decides to fill her
shoes with heavy sand…and never float again.

Production Team:

Kantu Lentz is a Peruvian filmmaker who is inclined to creating love
stories that take place in alternate realities with magic realism

About the Production: By creating a world in which we can’t hide the way we feel, I want to
tell a story that talks about how hard it is to be vulnerable in front
of another human being, how hard it is to say, “I love you,” first,
because I think it is a sympton of being human.

Luftmenschen is a direct response to a generation steeped in social
media, where we hide behind ‘likes’ and ‘pokes’ to express how we feel,
avoiding intimacy. And that the possibility of pain is not great enough
to give up the pursuit of connection.

Current Status: Pre-production/Fundraising
