Spidey Still Rules Overseas...$69 Million More For "Amazing Spider-Man 2"

Again showing how important the international market is for superhero films, Sony’s “Amazing Spider-Man 2” had another big week at the overseas box office with a take of $69 million, bringing the overall cume to over $400 million.  Whether it’s titled “Neighbors” or “Neighbours” or “Bad Neighbours”, Seth and Zac & Co made a nice splash in their international debut with $34 million.  More territories will follow for the comedy in the coming weeks.

“Rio 2” continued to hold in nicely, as its $14 million for the three days placed it in the Show position and pushed the overall grab to $312 million.  Fox’s “The Other Woman” was fourth with $13 million and a cume of $66 million and Disney’s “Frozen” (AGAIN!) finished in the top five with $7.1 million, raising its overseas total to $8.6 billion  (Okay I exaggerate, merely $790 million).

Final numbers will come out Tuesday morning.
