Sundance Selects/IFC Films President Jonathan Sehring announced today that Steven Cardwell has been hired fro the newly created position of Head of Digital Marketing. Cardwell will oversee digital and social marketing initiatives for films under the Sundance Selects, IFC FIlms and IFC Midnight distribution labels.
“Steven’s creativity, knowledge, experience and expertise in the digital realm and within the entertainment industry make him the perfect fit for this position,” remarked Sehring. “We are all extremely thrilled to have him joining our team.”
Cardwell hails from the Scott Rudin family, having most recently served as the Worldwide Marketing Director for the hit Broadway musical, “The Book of Mormon,” (on which Rudin is credited as a producer). Prior to working on marketing for “The Book of Mormon,” Cardwell served as the Marketing Director for Scott Rudin Productions.
Titles that will fall under Cardwell’s purview as Head of Marketing for Sundance Selects, IFC Films and IFC Midnight include John Slattery’s “God’s Pocket,” Jim Mickle’s “Cold in July” and Richard Linklater’s “Boyhood.”
