Thanksgiving Gets A Box Office Boost As "Penguins Of Madagascar" Moves to November 26th

It’s penguins to the rescue as Dreamworks and Fox move “Penguins Of Madagascar” up to this Thanksgiving (11/26 to be exact), giving their other animated title, “Home” the heave-ho into next March 27th.  On paper this would seem to be a no-brainer move as “Penguins” enjoys far more awareness than “Home” does and the holiday season is extremely light on family fare with Weinstein’s “Paddington” as the only other animated title after Disney’s “Big Hero 6” on November 7th.  Dreamworks could use a hit after the failures of “Mr. Peabody & Sherman” and “Turbo” and a successful run of “How To Train Your Dragon 2” on June 13th coupled with a through-the-holidays-and-into-January journey on “Penguins” would be just what the doctor ordered for the Katzenberg Kids.
