2014 Emmy Predictions: Best Comedy Actor

2014 Emmy Predictions: Best Comedy Actor

Indiewire will provide regular updates of our predictions through August 25th, when the winners will be announced.

If the Outstanding Comedy Actor race was simply about the programs’ prominence in our culture, determined through awareness, eyeballs, and respect, then Louis C.K. would walk away with this trophy. He still might, but Jim Parsons, Matt LeBlanc, and Ricky Gervais are big enough names to give him some trouble. William H. Macy could be a sleeper pick. A newcomer to the comedy genre after “Shameless” switched submission categories, Macy could lure voters over who favor dramatic acting even in the comedy categories.
