Next Week's Coming Attractions: Tammy, Terror and Tiny Aliens

Melissa McCarthy’s road comedy “Tammy”, Screen Gems’ “Deliver Us From Evil” and Relativity’s kid adventure tale “Earth To Echo” provide the 4th of July fireworks at the box office next weekend.

Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon seem like a match made in R rated comedy heaven as they both head out on the road in (McCarthy’s husband) Ben Falcone’s “Tammy”.  R rated comedies have generally not disappointed so far in 2014 and interest is high for this inspired comedic pairing.

In addition, Relativity has the sci-fi adventure tale, “Earth To Echo”, from director Dave Green (interviewed in this blog two months ago) who rose to acclaim with his web series “Zombie Roadkill” (check out an episode on YouTube, it’s hilarious).  The film will appeal to families of all ages and has a shot to be a sleeper.

Finally, Eric Bana stars as a New York cop assigned to investigate a series of possessions that are occurring in the city in “Deliver Us From Evil”.  Quick, name the last successful horror title in 2014.  Didn’t think you could.  This has breakout potential.   .
