Project of the Day: ‘Channel Zero’

Project of the Day: 'Channel Zero'

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

“Channel Zero”

Tweetable Logline: The remains of humanity struggle to survive after the apocalypse… and to produce quality television entertainment!

Elevator Pitch: CHANNEL ZERO is a comedy about a post-apocalyptic colony that broadcasts a pirate television station in the wastelands. What was once just a beacon of hope has grown into a way for these survivors to rebuild their lives. After all, they grew up in the post-Youtube world with cameras on every phone and street corner. A little thing like the destruction of all human civilization isn’t going to stop people from wanting to be reality stars!

It’s the behind-the-scenes fun of “Larry Sanders”, “SCTV” and “30 Rock” mixed with the end-of-the-world flair of “Fallout” and “Mad Max”.

Production Team:

The common link of nearly everyone involved with CHANNEL ZERO is the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles.

Written by Kevin Pedersen
Directed by Alex Fernie
Executive Produced by Kevin Pedersen and Tom Vaughan

Ronnie Adrian (Key and Peele, UCB’s Belmonte)

About the Production: CHANNEL ZERO was developed by Kevin Pedersen and Tom Vaughan from an idea of Kevin’s that exploited their love of post-apocalyptic fiction and backstage comedy like SCTV and Larry Sanders . The goal was to create something that had the freedom of sketch comedy but still follow a narrative of regular characters as they ry to find some normalcy after The End. Their idea of normalcy, unfortunately, is television.

Current Status:
We are currently raising funds for the production.
