Watch: Full 1976 TV Movie 'The Tenth Level' Starring William Shatner Before Kellan Lutz Stars In Sort Of Remake

Kellan Lutz! Emmett Cullen from “Twilight” has arguably maintained a better movie career than Taylor Lautner, which we wouldn’t really have guessed back at the height of Twihard mania. He’s managed to star in a string of indies, was even given a shot at his own sorta tentpole with “The Legend Of Hercules,” and — God bless his agent — he has a role in this summer’s “The Expendables 3.” And now, in a move we can only call Lutz-ian at this point, he’ll be playing William Shatner because of course he is.

THR reports that Lutz will be part of the ensemble of Anton Yelchin, Taryn Manning, Peter Sarsgaard, Winona Ryder, Anthony Edwards and Edoardo Ballerini in “Experimenter.” Michael Almereyda (“Hamlet” starring Ethan Hawke) will direct the film that will be based on the true story of the Obedience Experiments at Yale University in 1961. The controversial study threw the spotlight on psychologist Steve Milgram who pioneered the project, with William Shatner essentially playing the doctor, in the dramatic 1976 CBS TV movie retelling “The Tenth Level.” And it would seem “Experimenter” will touch on that, with Lutz to play Shatner (Sarsgaard will play the real Milgram).

Anyway, if you want to see Shatner in the real deal movie and not Lutz playing the actor presumably in the movie within the movie (inception!?), watch below.
