Watch: John Slattery Tries To Save His Family In Devastating 'Bluebird' Trailer

Just as Factory 25 and Sundance Artist Services begin to launch a Kickstarter campaign to support the domestic independent release of Lance Edmands’ family drama and debut feature “Bluebird,” they are also dropping the film’s first emotionally heavy trailer.

A strong entry on the 2013 festival circuit and named one of Variety’s best undistributed films of 2013, “Bluebird” explores the interconnectedness of a small logging town in the northern reaches of Maine after a local school bus driver (Tony nominee Amy Morton) becomes distracted during her end-of-day inspection and fails to notice a sleeping boy in the back of the bus. What happens next shatters the domesticity of the quaint town and its close members, including the bus driver’s husband (John Slattery of “Mad Men”) and the boy’s devastated mother (Louisa Krause, “King Kelly”).

Shot on location in the stark, frozen woods of Maine’s Katahdin region, the trailer promises a heavy dose of family drama, while also featuring some hauntingly beautiful cinematography that captures the chilling cold of the setting and the painful isolation of the situation at hand. The film also stars Emily Meade, Adam Driver and Emmy winner Margo Martindale.
