Film Movement Announces USA DVD & Digital Releases of Mahamat-Saleh Haroun's 'Grisgris'

Film Movement (, the distributor of award-winning independent and foreign films, has announced today that Mahamat-Saleh Haroun’s latest work “Grisgris” will be released on DVD on August 19.

The fifth feature from acclaimed director Haroun (“A Screaming Man”), “Grisgris” was honored with the Vulcan Award for technical achievement at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, and was Chad’s official entry into the Academy Awards.

In the drama, Grigris (played by Soulémane Démé) dreams of making a living on the dance floor, despite his bum leg. But when his stepfather falls ill, he delves into the sinister world of oil smuggling in an effort to both pay his family medical bills and impress the softhearted prostitute for whom he has quickly fallen. Soon, they are on the run from their poor decisions, hoping to start a new life together.

The DVD features a bonus short film specially selected to compliment the feature – the Academy Award-nominated animated short film “Feral.”

Available to own on DVD August 19th, the feature film also becomes available to own digitally on all major platforms (iTunes, Amazon Instant, Google Play and more).
