Tweetable Logline: A young woman cycles through seven different relationships, each one depicted in a different cinematic style.
Elevator Pitch: Laura likes to be in love. Laura needs to be in love. But every time Laura falls in love, she finds herself changing to fit into the world of her partner, and the style of the movie changes, too – from animation to old-fashioned musical to pseudo-documentary and everything in between. As she adapts all-too-seamlessly to each new “genre” of romance, Laura is forced to ask herself: who am I when I’m not a lover?
Production Team:
Keith Boynton – Director / Writer
Mélisa Breiner-Sanders – Producer
Tim Eliot – Producer
Ryan Nicolls – Producer
Steven Latta – Cinematographer
Adrienne Stern – Casting Director
About the film: The primary desire behind this movie was to play with different film genres (Animation; Musical; Documentary; Music Video; Narrative) and somehow merge them into one story. The one story that we wanted to tell is the story of a young woman, Laura, who finds herself shifting who she is through these different relationships, each one told in a different cinematic style and how that plays upon her personality until, through her experiences, she discovers herself as all of these seemingly disparate styles coalesce.
