Elevator Pitch: “The Valley of Sand” is a modern Western that tells the story a lonely outcast – a man trying to find somewhere to belong who makes an unexpected friend along the way; and a down and out rancher trying to make sense of a broken relationship. As each man tries to hold his future and his home together, they are unexpectedly bound by a violent whirlwind of events leading to a desperate chase through the vast country.

About the film: This film was inspired by living and working on the Medano-Zapata Ranch in Colorado. Driving past the sand dunes, down the dirt roads littered with old farming equipment and houses that were once someone’s dream of making it out West, we knew that we had to make a film here. The vast landscape provides the perfect backdrop to tell a story of isolation and the search for a place to belong. It’s a place that hasn’t been used before and the special access we have is a big reason we’re so passionate about the project.
