Watch: IFC Releases 'Garfunkel and Oates' Pilot Online Ahead of Premiere

After quite a wait — and perhaps in response to it — IFC has released the first episode of its new comedy “Garfunkel and Oates” online for all to see. No user name, password, or cable subscription required.

Starring Kate Micucci, who you may remember as the banjo-playing latecomer to “Scrubs,” and Riki Lindhome, who you may recognize as Harper from “Enlightened,” the show centers around the two friends and their evolving relationships and interactions in the city. The duo has been producing sweet songs on YouTube and at various live shows for years — one new song premieres about midway through the episode in an odd bit of formatting — but now they’re taking a step up onto IFC as a half-hour scripted comedy.

The pilot below also features guest star T.J. Miller (“Silicon Valley”) who made a number of appearance with Micucci and Lindhome on the popular comedy podcast “Doug Loves Movies.” Take a look at the pilot and let us know what you think in the comments.

“Garfunkel and Oates” premieres on IFC August 8th at 10pm.
