Drafthouse Films and Cinedigm have dropped an alluring new trailer for “The Dog” — the highly anticipated documentary portrait of the late John Wojtowicz, who served as the inspiration for “Dog Day Afternoon.”
“The Dog,” which made its debut on the festival circuit at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, re-examines Wojtowicz’s attempted robbery in relation to the gay liberation movement that swept New York around the same time.
In an interview clip that plays toward the end of the trailer, a tough-as-nails Wojtowciz says, “If I had a dream and in that dream I saw everything that happened, would I still go out and do it? “You’re damn right I’d still go out and do it.”
