Tommy Wiseau, the auteur mastermind behind “The Room,” is back in business. “Coming this September 2014,” “Tommy Wiseau’s The Neighbors,” a TV series, might be on the air (but probably not).
To quote from the official website:
“‘The Neighbors’ is about the relationship between a group of neighbors who live in an apartment building. The lead character is Charlie, the manager of the building. The tenants are a diverse group of personalities; all of different ages and backgrounds, constantly bringing their problems to Charlie and his secretary/girlfriend Bebe. The character of Princess Penelope creates a commotion after she witnesses the ghost of her uncle Prince Charles. It is a fresh and humorous look at human behaviour through different points of view. This cocktail of characters always guarantee plenty of surprises. The demographic is all inclusive.”
We’re speechless, but we’ll do our best to present the facts as we know them. The website states “The Neighbors” will be coming in September to Comedy TV, but Wiseau originally planned for the show to run on a major network — back in 2004, when he shot the pilot (and we’re unsure what Comedy TV actually is, considering even the YouTube channel of the same name appears to be above this kind of thing).
The new clip below is the first we’ve heard of the project since Wiseau discussed it a decade prior. With the launch of his website and subsequent release of a new scene today, it makes us wonder if he’s trying to swoop in on the TCA junket he would’ve been a part of had his show warranted a pick up from the big four.
Check out the new scene from the show in which Wiseau seems to be selling his own brand of underwear, as well as the preexisting trailer for the show below.
