ESPN’s Sage Steele and Jemele Hill on Short List to Join ABC’s ‘The View’

ESPN’s Sage Steele and Jemele Hill on Short List to Join ABC’s 'The View'

Now that Barbara Walters, Sherri Sheppard and Jenny McCarthy
have all left ABC’s daytime talkfest “The View,” leaving only Whoopi Goldberg, the
question has been, who will replace them?

Though it was officially announced that Rosie O’Donnell
will be rejoining the show, there still are 2 slots wide open.

So to help the show’s producers and the network to come
to a decision soon, they have been holding, in effect, on-air auditions – or, as
the network calls it, “chemistry tests” – for potential possible replacements; the hope being that, some will click with the other guest co-hosts.

It’s been revealed (HERE) that 2 black female anchors currently on ESPN, are on the short list as possible permanent replacements.

The 2 are ESPN and ABC’s Sage Steele (pictured
above), who hosts the Friday and Sunday
evening broadcasts of “NBA Countdown,” and Jemele Hill, who is the co-host of “Numbers Never Lie.”

Both women have co-hosted “The View” in the past, and considering that they are on the list to take on
permanent slots indicates that the producers and the network believe that Steele
and Hill might have the right “chemistry” for the show.

No word yet as to when the new co-hosts for the show will
be announced.
