Shawn Christensen’s feature directorial debut, “Before I Disappear,” has been picked up by IFC Films for distribution throughout North America.
Christensen, who is also an actor, stars as a troubled young man who receives a call out of the blue from his estranged sister, played by Emmy Rossum, asking him to take care of her 11-year-old daughter. Ron Perlman also co-stars.
“Before I Disappear” is based on Christensen’s short film, “Curfew,” which won an Academy Award in 2013. The feature film adaptation had its world premiere earlier this year at SXSW, where it won the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature.
