Even though many, if not most, of the fervent “Breaking Bad” viewership already used Netflix to binge watch the series at some point during its five-season run, AMC is about to start its own marathon for the 2014 Emmy nominee on Sunday. The cable network will be playing the role of a proud, Emmy-craving papa, airing every episode of the series in eight-hour chunks every Sunday night, from August 10 to October 10.
To further lure viewers, there will be never-before-seen footage of the cast discussing the show, as well as an inside look at the making of each episode. AMC has also partnered with Facebook to show fans how the series grew through social media and exemplify what topics trended and when. To round out the marathon, AMC will also be launching new content via its Story Sync platform found on the network’s website — fans can vote in polls and answer trivia questions while binging, in case what’s on screen isn’t enough to keep their short attention spans engaged.
Below, you’ll find an example of one of the cast interview segments, exclusive to Indiewire. Check it out, and get ready for the “Breaking Bad Binge,” starting August 10 at 5pm.
