On the eve of its Toronto International Film Festival debut, RADiUS-TWC has dropped the official new poster for Andrea Di Stefano’s chilling directorial debut, “Escobar: Paradise Lost.” The drama first premiered at Telluride, where our own Eric Kohn responded favorably, calling the movie a “solid B-movie” that is “tense” and “well acted.”
Although the film stars Oscar winner Benicio Del Toro as notorious Columbian drug lord Pablo Escobar, the drama pushes its eponymous villain to a supporting role as it tells the story of young surfer (Josh Hutcherson, showcasing his talents outside of “The Hunger Games” franchise) who falls in love with Escobar’s niece (Claudia Traisac). Based on this brooding new poster, which evokes the memory of the similarly designed “No Country For Old Men” artwork, it’s safe to assume that not all goes well when the young man and the drug lord collide.
Check out the poster below. RADiUS-TWC will release the film on November 26.
