McConaughey, capping a great year with his Oscar win for “Dallas Buyers Club” and the Emmy-nominated HBO southern gothic “True Detective,” will be toasted by Jennifer Garner, Cole Hauser, Reese Witherspoon, Lili Fini Zanuck and “Interstellar” (out November 7) costar Jessica Chastain with in-person tributes. Jimmy Kimmel will emcee the evening.
Event co-chairs include such Hollywood who’s-who as Chastain, Brad Grey, Woody Harrelson, Anne Hathaway, Alan Horn, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Donna Langley, “Interstellar” director Christopher Nolan, Amy Pascal and “True Detective” creator Nic Pizzolatto, among many more.
McConaughey was unanimously tapped for the honor by the Cinematheque Board of Directors, who’ve feted Jerry Bruckheimer, Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon in recent years. More info on this starry night here.
