Winner of Sundance 2014’s Grand Jury and Audience Award, “Whiplash” is a highly anticipated ride into art, obsession and the darker side of what it takes to triumph above all else.
Written and directed by Damien Chazelle, “Whiplash” stars Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons as a student and teacher pair. Teller is Andrew Neyman, a jazz drummer who attends an elite east coast conservatory and aspires to rise to the top of his class, his passion fueled by the failed musical career of his father. Simmons is Terence Fletcher, a tough instructor who takes Andrew underneath his wing and pushes him him to the brink, testing his ability while simultaneously forcing his sanity hang in the balance.
