GALLERY EVENT: "Yellow Submarine" Tribute Art Show At Van Eaton Galleries

The Van Eaton Galleries in Sherman Oaks, CA (Los Angeles) will present a Beatles/Yellow Submarine Movie Tribute Art Show on Saturday, Sept 20th. The show will celebrate the 1968 animated feature film, and feature artwork by more than 20 contemporary artists and animators as well as a 10 foot mosaic guitar by artist Juliana Martinez. 

Curated by Martinez and Phillip Graffham, each artist will create original one-of-a-kind paintings,
drawings or sculptures in their own style that is in someway inspired by the
Yellow Submarine film. Participating artists include Alicia “alo” De Leon,
Andrew Iwankiw, Bill Morrison, Caleb Paullus, Coco Katzen, Dee Schiller, Edwin
Aguilar, Elizabeth Criss, Franz Keller, Grasiela Rodriguez, Juliana Martinez,
Lesley Perdomo, Lori Antoinette, Manuel Gonzalez, Nagy Girgis, Nicole
Aguilar-Copp, Nik Rosendahl, Rick Farmiloe, Shelli Weldon, Suzette Franck and
more.

There will also be an exhibit of
original art by Bill Morrison from his Yellow Submarine comic book that was never
published. Bill is
an American comic book artist and writer, and
co-founder of Bongo Comics. He was the creative director of Bongo Comics to
1993 to 2012, worked as an illustrator on The Simpsons and director for
Futurama.

The opening reception is on Saturday, September 20th, 2014  from 6pm–9pm.  This event is free and open to the public.

 Van Eaton Galleries is
located at 13613 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks CA 91423. The exhibit runs from September 20th through September 30th, 2014. Gallery hours are 10am – 6pm Tuesday through Saturday.
