The coming of age feature script was a finalist at the 2012 Sundance Writers Lab, and the short film based on the feature script, traveled the film festival circuit from 2011-2013. You can watch it at the bottom of this post.
The film’s cast includes Hope Olaide Wilson, who stars as Sole, as well as Kali Hawk (as Ruby, Sole’s 27 yr old Aunt, who’s described as a New Age hippy who quotes metaphysical theories while wearing Chanel, and who is determined to protect her niece), with casting underway for the roles of Jasmine, the troubled neighbor, and Guedado, the androgynous and amorous musician who uses his art to deal with his dark past.

Her music videos landed her at RSA Films’ Black Dog for a year as one of their more experimental music video directors.
As a Gaea Foundation Sea Change Residency, she developed a story based on her experiences with self-harm and eating disorders. The story became the short film Solace which toured the festival circuit and then the feature script.
