“I never wanted any of this,” Katniss says in the new trailer for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.” “I never wanted to be in the games. I just wanted to save my sister and keep Peeta alive.” Sorry sister, life just got tougher. There’s a newfound angst found in Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) in the third ‘Hunger Games’ film, as she becomes a reluctant rebel leader to the people outside the Capitol.
Her mission in this film will be rescuing Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) who was captured by President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and his oppressive regime during ‘Catching Fire‘ and is now being exploited via propaganda. Here’s the official synopsis:
The worldwide phenomenon of The Hunger Games continues to set the world on fire with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, which finds Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin (Julianne Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and a nation moved by her courage. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Danny Strong and Peter Craig and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the third in a trilogy written by Suzanne Collins that has over 65 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.
Meanwhile, some new photos from the film have arrived, plus moody promo shots of Katniss Everdeen, Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth) and a new rebel named Cressida (Natalie Dormer from “Game Of Thrones”).
Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin and Jena Malone, and Stanley Tucci, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 1” arrives in theaters on November 22nd.
