Lionsgate/Roadside has acquired U.S. rights to “The Reach,” starring Michael Douglas, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Jean-Baptiste Leonetti-directed film is based on Robb White’s novel “Deathwatch,” which centers on a manipulative business man (Douglas) who goes on a hunting trip in the Mojave desert. Jeremy Irving co-stars as his less financially-fortunate young guide.
THR reports that the film was bought for $2.25 million. No release date has yet been announced.
