'Lucy' Runs Worldwide Cume to $354 Million With Yet Another International 1st Place Finish


Led by Russia’s $9.6 million opening weekend, Luc Besson’s “Lucy” proved tres belle encore with an additional $25 million internationally and yet another first place finish at the box office.  The film has now amassed over $350 million worldwide and is showing absolutely no signs of stopping with more territories still to come.  “The Maze Runner” made its debut in five countries and placed ninth with $8.3 million while the U.K. enjoyed the highest opening ever for a Laika Entertainment title with “The Boxtrolls”.  “Into The Storm” vaulted to #2 thanks in large part to a China opening of $7.5 million.  “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, who emerge from their shell in China in October, finished fourth.
