Project of the Day: 'Children of the Night'

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Children of the Night

Tweetable Logline: An everyman journeys into the ghettos of his subconscious in his transition to the afterlife.

Elevator Pitch: “Children of the Night” is an experimental stop motion animation. In the film, we follow the path taken by souls from this life to the next. We burrow deep into our everyman’s subconscious, through a miasma of his distorted memories. An extra-dimensional hallway represents his subconscious. Behind each door waits a distorted memory, within these rooms we interact with abstract archetypes–such as the mother, father, lover and abandoned child. These universal archetypes have the ability to trigger past experiences, conjuring a reflection or reconciliation with one’s present self and past.

Production Team:

About the film: Through surreal experiences I intend to explore the duality between the Mind and the Universe, inviting the viewer to meditate and explore the terrain of themselves. “Children of the Night” will be crafted to act as a mirror rather than a statement.

Current Status: Pre-production.
