With Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch seemingly good to go for “True Detective” season two, the one major part left to cast is the female lead. And as has been the case with nearly every movement surrounding the show, rumors are flying, and today comes a brace of new names that are apparently in the mix. But first, an update on two previously mentioned contenders.
According to The Wrap, the recently rumored Elisabeth Moss and Rachel McAdams have likely had the conversations but nothing is locked in (though they could still be in play), so the door has been opened to a host of other actresses to vie for the role. So, who are they? According to the the trade, Brit Marling, Oona Chaplin, Kelly Reilly, Jessica Biel, Malin Akerman, Jaimie Alexander and Rosario Dawson are all being looked at. They believe the latter is the most likely candidate, though that seems to be more personal opinion than fact. Either way, it seems HBO is casting the net pretty wide as the network and Nic Pizzolatto try and land on a decision as to who will play troubled Monterey sheriff Ani Bezzerides.
