The concept of handing out awards for digital content is just barely as old as digital content itself, but the 4th Annual Streamy Awards, which revealed its final winners last night, pulled off a pretty professional show which served as a celebration of the web video space.
Mainstream celebs like Tara Reid and Lance Bass were paired with their YouTube equivalents to recognize Hart’s “My Drunk Kitchen” as Best Comedy Series, while post-modern Jane Austen adaptation “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries” took home the prize for Best Drama.
Like most of YouTube’s most popular content, the most entertaining moments were off-the-cuff, organic and honest, including irreverently name-checking the sponsors and ignoring the teleprompter.
Below, find the complete winners list, including the winners of the Icon awards, which honored established personalities who have helped transform digital content into an evolving and thriving industry.
