In its 5th week on VOD, “The One I Love” has grossed an impressive $737,039 so far, eclipsing the film’s theatrical gross of $309,000. The directorial debut of Charlie McDowell, “The One I Love” (which stars Elisabeth Moss and Mark Duplass), is a romantic comedy edging on the absurd. The film premiered earlier this year at Sundance to rave reviews. It also claimed the #6 spot in the list of Top 10 Indies in the iTunes store.
Meanwhile, “Snowpiercer,” in its 8th week on VOD, has reached a cumulative VOD gross of $6,455,496, far surpassing its theatrical gross of $4,500,600. The film holds the #7 spot in the list of Top 10 Indies in the iTunes store.
Separately, Roadside Attractions’ “Life of Crime,” starring Jennifer Aniston, Isla Fischer and Tim Robbins, landed the #1 spot in the list of Top Indies in the iTunes store and is the #3 film on the iTunes Movies list. “The Longest Week,” “Night Moves,” “Frank” and “Belle” rounded out the top 5 on the chart.
“Tim’s Vermeer” landed the #1 spot on the iTunes list of Top Documentaries, potentially thanks to a 99-cent “Movie of the Week” rental deal. Meanwhile, not surprising given the recent death of Joan Rivers, “Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work” was in the #3 spot for documentaries.
